ADAM ZEMKE
Partner
For over a decade, Adam has been working to improve educational opportunities for children. He most recently served as the president of the education reform coalition Launch Michigan, and previously as global manager of STEAM education at Ford Motor Company. From 2013-18, he represented Washtenaw County’s 55th District as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. While a member of the House of Representatives, Adam served in multiple caucus leadership roles, including as chair of the House Democratic caucus, as Democratic vice-chair of the Education/Education Reform Committee, and as a member of the Appropriations Subcommittees on School Aid and Community College Appropriations.

Adam holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University, where he was first inspired by the power of project and experiential learning through the Formula SAE program. In 2019, he was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the MiSTEM Council.
JEREMY GLICK
Partner
Jeremy Glick brings a deep understanding of Michigan politics to 1837 Partners. He has worked for members of both the Michigan Senate and Michigan House of Representatives, and has managed more than two dozen state and local campaigns across southeast Michigan. Additionally, Jeremy has an interest and expertise in health policy, having been selected as a 2020 legislative fellow by the Center for Health Research and Transformation.

Jeremy holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and French from the University of Michigan, a juris doctor from the George Washington University Law School, and a master of laws in health law at the Georgetown University Law Center.


KATHLEEN "KAT" OWSLEY

Kathleen "Kat" Owsley has spent over 25 years in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Prior to joining 1837 Partners, Kat was President of the Bosch Community Fund, the corporate foundation for Bosch in the US, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico. Kat served as a program officer and the project manager for the Kresge Foundation's Detroit strategy before joining Bosch. Prior to Kresge, Kat lead the Detroit regional transformation initiative, One D, under the chairmanship of Edsel B. Ford II and seven regional organizations. Kat also served as the Vice President, Market Development with the Detroit Regional Chamber, where she oversaw non-dues revenue program development and sales as well as community engagement and outreach.
Kat's volunteerism includes Vice Chair, Corporate Philanthropy for the Council of Michigan Foundations, Chair, Detroit Area Grantmakers and board service with the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Executives, Michigan Society of Association Executives, American Red Cross SE Michigan and the Friends of Queen's University Belfast. Currently, Kat is serving her second term as a council member to the MiSTEM Advisory Committee, appointed by Gov. Whitmer in 2024.
Kat earned her Bachelor's Degree in economics and international commerce from Kalamazoo College. And her Master's in Irish Studies at Queen's University Belfast. She earned her Certification for Association Executives (CAE) in 2004 from the American Society of Association Executives.
